Manning Child Care Facility lives the dream

Grace Foods and Services has selected the Manning Child Care Facility in Southfield, St Elizabeth to conclude its 'Live the Dream' town tour.

The company made a generous donation to the home on Saturday, July 23. The Manning Child Care Facility currently houses 54 needy and/or abandoned boys between the ages of eight and 18. They are taught academic subjects and participate in vocational and social activities as a means of rehabilitation. Grace selected this home because of its dedication to caring for young minds throughout their personal struggles.

The home depends a great deal on the support of community members as well as foreign entities. In the past, they have received outside help that will have essentially impacted the boys' learning skills and aid immensely in helping them reach their full potential. Ultimately, this will make them productive members of society. Realising this, Grace wanted to help the boys continue to grow, while having a healthy appetite for knowledge.

"Being a Jamaican brand that is well supported by our customers, we believe it is our corporate responsibility to give back in meaningful ways to those in need," said Racquel Nevins, marketing manager for Grace Foods and Services.

"Therefore, we make an effort to give assistance to organisations like the Manning Child Care Facility, who themselves give back to persons who are destitute." The home received grocery items which were presented to the manager of the home, Delroy Brown.

"We would like to express our gratitude for the assistance given by Grace; it is much appreciated," said Brown. "It will help the preparation of meals for the boys and aid in their continuous development." The donation will supplement the nutrition programme at the home.
