TAJ-MOCA raids continue in Clarendon

Published:Wednesday | August 17, 2016 | 12:00 AM

Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) and the Major Organized Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) are continuing operations in sections of Clarendon today.

The TAJ says this is being done to recover outstanding taxes from delinquent taxpayers who have refused to comply with the orders of the Court.

The operation began yesterday in sections of St Catherine.

Communications officer at the TAJ, Leighton Beckles, says 17 taxpayers residing in Old Harbour have settled their debts as a result of yesterday’s operation.

He says several others have paid down significant amounts and have made arrangements to settle with the administration shortly.

Beckles says no arrests were made.
