Girls hold hands as they help each other wade through a flooded street after the passing of Hurricane Matthew in Les Cayes, Haiti, today.

The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) is collecting donations from members of the public to help with relief supplies for Haiti, which has been hit hard by Hurricane Matthew.

The ODPEM says it is the central coordinating agency in Jamaica for all disaster relief supplies for the Help Haiti Initiative.

The agency says organisations and individuals making donations can send them to  its offices at 2-4 Haining Road, Kingston 5.

It says priority items being sought include bottled water, non-perishable food, and tarpaulins.

ODPEM says arrangements will be made for them to be transported to Haiti.

The agency says cash donations can be made to any branch of the National Commercial Bank (NCB) account number 21-2387304.
