The Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) says it’s very concerned about the non-payment of salaries to some teachers and coaches employed to the Ministry of Education’s Alternative Pathway in Secondary Education Programme, since September.

The JTA says it has initiated discussion with the education ministry and has been advised that some of the affected persons have since been paid a portion of the outstanding salary.

It says the Ministry has also indicated that the outstanding  balance will be paid this month.
