Senator Kamina Johnson Smith, minister of foreign affairs and foreign trade, is currently in Tokyo participating in the World Assembly for Women (WAW!), which got under way yesterday and will end tomorrow.
Johnson Smith is expected to make a presentation on the contribution of Jamaican women to the country's political, economic and social development during the High-Level Round Table today.
WAW!, an initiative of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and part of his 'womenomics' strategy, aimed at helping more Japanese women enter the workforce, will see the Executive Director of UN Women, Phumsile Mlambo-Ngcuka, and other such world leaders and figures in attendance.
