Constables shot as detainee tries to disarm one

Two police constables were last night rushed to hospital after they were shot while taking a detainee into custody at the Coral Gardens Police Station.

The Corporate Communications Unit says the detainee attempted to disarm one of the cops who lost his balance in the attempt.

That's when the cop's weapon reportedly went off firing one round injuring him and another constable.

The constables were taken to hospital for treatment.
