Robbers try at Island Grill

Up to late yesterday, senior police investigators continued to probe an alleged attempt by armed men to rob the Island Grill outlet in the Red Hills Mall, St Andrew.

Reports are that early yesterday morning, two employees were about to open the store when they were pounced on by two men armed with guns.

A private security company was alerted to the attempted robbery and responded quickly.

The men reportedly escaped with two cellular phones without stealing anything from the store.

But this caused a delay in the opening of the outlet, which kept its doors shut until well after midday.
