Lewd video cop still not identified

The police have disclosed that they have not been able to make any headway in the case involving a member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) allowing a female civilian to perform a simulated sexual act on his M-16 rifle.

In the less-than-10-second video, the woman can be seen using her tongue to encircle the lower section, including the muzzle of the gun, while the policeman stood by, in contempt of the rules of the force that prohibit such behaviour.

With the face of the officer not visible in the video, the police are having a difficult time in locating him.

"We have not identified the officer involved. The video did not provide us with sufficient information to identify the individual," Stephanie Lindsay, superintendent in charge of the JCF's Corporate Communications Unit, told The Gleaner.

WARNING ISSUED

"As it stands now, it (the case) cannot go any further because of the inability of investigators to identify the offending member," she added.

Lindsay stated that despite the police not being able to identify the persons captured in the video, a stern warning was issued to members of the JCF by Acting Commissioner of Police Novelette Grant that the force would not tolerate indecent acts.

In a missive to senior managers of the JCF, which The Gleaner obtained recently, Grant said the conduct of the officer was what she expected from criminals and not members of the JCF.

She called on the police to change their ways or face the risk of being netted for wrongdoing.

"Men and women of integrity, how long will you allow these persons to rob us of our dignity and respect?" the commissioner-candidate questioned in her letter to subordinates.
