JoJo's Angels keeps pregnant teens cool at Women's Centre

The trend is for beauty queens to launch a project or choose a charity to focus on, after they have been crowned.
Not so for beautiful Candice McLeod, current Miss Universe Jamaica North East.
Her charity, JoJo's Angels, which she and Oral Heaven launched some two years ago, started even before she had a notion that she would have entered the contest.
JoJo's Angels recently continued its support of needy individuals and organisations by donating six fans to the Women's Centre of Jamaica Foundation, St Ann's Bay branch.
The fans were donated to JoJo's Angels by Mr Nash store in Ocho Rios.
HELP WITH UNFORTUNATE
"JoJo's Angels is a charity group formed by myself and Oral Heaven and it came about because of my brother, who is disabled and my need of wanting to help others like him, not necessarily children, but people like him, people in unfortunate circumstances," McLeod told Rural Xpress.
Having worked with the Women's Centre for the last year, McLeod was knowledgeable of the needs of the centre at this time and decided to source the fans.
"Mr Nash was generous enough to assist us with six fans," she said.
Brenda Brown, senior counsellor at the Women's Centre, received the fans and was grateful for the gift.
Meanwhile, Brown revealed that the centre is in need of a television set that would be used to assist the young women who are sitting CSEC examinations this year.
The Women's Centre provides a programme for adolescent mother and came about in response to the high number of teenage pregnancies occurring in Jamaica. The main objective is to motivate mothers to choose education instead of continuous motherhood.
