This week, I blasted tunes and tested out the Argom Tech Bazooka Beats. Off the bat, the Bazooka Beats is an excellent speaker! It is a very satisfying combination of portability and functionality paired with a high-end and professional feel to complement the cylindrical design.

Features

- Micro SD Card support

- USB support

- Bluetooth connectivity

- FM radio

- AUX port

Audio quality

As an outdoor speaker, the Bazooka Beats delivers quality sound with no shortage of volume. The speaker emits a rich bass that will captivate the ears of any listener up to 30 feet away. At high volumes, Bazooka still delivers good quality with no apparent muffle. It is capable of providing superior audio for a room measuring 60 by 60 feet ideally; it can also emit sounds more than satisfactory for the average living room, but clearly not enough to fill an auditorium.

Rating: 8/10

Modes of connection

One of the best features was the variety of ways in which you can connect devices to it. Additionally, there is a fancy voice that lets you know which mode you are in.

You can either stream music wirelessly via Bluetooth, plug your flash drive in, insert a memory card or connect using the AUX cable. This variety of options will be welcomed by many, especially the high-powered techie who will utilise USB or memory card connections. The inclusion of the FM radio function is also quite fitting for Jamaicans who likes to stay tuned to the radio throughout the day.

Rating: 9/10.

Battery life

The battery life was quite impressive. Going for over six hours without any glitches, the Bazooka delivered more than enough hours of my favourite reggae and hip hop music! This is ideal to carry for a day out on the road or just to relax at home without having to worry about charging. Additionally, the micro USB charging port is compatible with many phones, therefore it is quite convenient to use your phone charger to charge.

Design and build quality

The device felt well-built and sturdy. Weighing in at 1,045 grams, which is a little more than the average tablet, the weight distribution feels good in the hand. The overall design is sleek and metallic, giving a professional feel to the speaker, all while fitting in a cylindrical body roughly the length of a telephone directory.

Rating: 8/10

Final thoughts

This is ideal for any music lover who loves rich, quality sound. The speaker looks, sounds and feels superb. The Bazooka Beats is perfect for outdoors and indoor events alike as the sound it emits has a great deal of volume and clarity to it. Two features that could possibly be added are waterproof capabilities and battery life that lasts for an entire day.
