The island's sole cement producer, Caribbean Cement Company, says it will be spending some US$1 to upgrade its packaging plant over the Easter weekend.
This after mechanical problems disrupted operations and caused a shortage of cement on the market.
Corporate Communication and Public Relations Manager at Carib Cement, Sophia Lowe Pinnock, says overall, the company will be spending US$18 million on repairs and upgrading works.
She says the new equipment and machinery have already arrived in the island.
