OCG questions contractor in de-bushing programme probe

Investigators at the Office of the Contractor General (OCG) probing the Government’s controversial $600 million de-bushing programme have started questioning contractor Tyrone Robinson.

Investigators have held a question and answer session with Robinson, in the company of his attorney.

The session is to continue on a date to be set by the parties.

Robinson, who is the chairman of the North East Regional Health Authority, was summoned by the OCG as part of its probe into the controversial de-bushing project.

Contractor General Dirk Harrison has said his probe of the multi-million dollar project will be wrapped up after he speaks with Robinson.

The OCG launched a probe into the de-bushing programme late last year after the opposition raised concerned about the awarding of contracts by the Government days before the November 2016 local government elections.
