With increased violence and global cyberattacks, which negatively impacted individuals, government agencies and corporations, the issue of personal safety and security has become more important than ever.

Against this background, Jamaica Money Market Brokers (JMMB) Group will host a workshop on personal safety and security, scheduled for Saturday, July 8 starting at 2 p.m.

The workshop, which is dubbed, 'Her Protection: Personal Safety & Security', is designed for an all-female audience and seeks to provide an engaging and practical way to educate and encourage attendees to approach personal safety, online security and financial security.

The event will use a multi-faceted approach featuring panel discussions with security experts from Hawkeye and the police who will address personal safety and security, alongside JMMB's financial educator, Michelle Sinclair Doyley who will speak to financial security; and JMMB's chief information officer, Sheldon Powe who will speak to cyber security.

The session will be followed by a series of short demonstrations, including self-defense with Jeffery Azan from Select and Start, and yoga with Shakira Williams.

Poet and percussionist M'bala will join the line-up with a solid entertainment package to help create a vibrant atmosphere.

The event forms a part of a series of all-women lifestyle events organised by JMMB Group to complement its most recent campaign launched earlier this year - JMMB Her Wealth - which is a complete financial solution that includes: investments, loans, savings, insurance offerings and a rewards programme.

This event is in keeping with the company's objective to provide financial education to its clients and the investing public on how to achieve their financial goals, by pairing lifestyle-related topics with financial issues.
