Transport Authority amnesty for unclaimed vehicles starts tomorrow

Published:Sunday | July 9, 2017 | 12:00 AM

Starting tomorrow, the Transport Authority says motorists will be able to pay significantly less for the release of vehicles impounded by the agency.

This comes as part of an amnesty that could see motorists getting discounts of up to 75 per cent on the total storage fees for vehicles that were impounded before January 1 this year.

The amnesty ends on July 21.

The Transport Authority says vehicles that are unclaimed after the amnesty will be auctioned in accordance with the Transport Authority Act.

And it says members of the public who want to know the status of their impounded vehicles can contact the Transport Authority’s operations department.
