Bus operators in KMTR get 10-day grace period to renew licences

Starting tomorrow, Jamaica Urban Transit Company Limited (JUTC) sub-franchise operators will have a 10-day grace period to renew their road licences.

The road licences issued to bus operators under the JUTC’s sub-franchise system expired yesterday.

But the State-owned bus company says bus operators now have until Friday, October 13 to renew their licenses.

The company is insisting that no further extensions will be granted.

It is also urging bus operators to take advantage of the extension to avoid prosecution.
