The National Works Agency (NWA) says a number of roadways in St Thomas are currently either impassable or reduced to single lane traffic following heavy rains on the weekend.

NWA Communication Manager Stephen Shaw says the roadway at Poorman’s Corner, located along the road to Morant Bay is flooded, while the Trinityville to Mount Vernon corridor is badly scoured and affected by landslides.

Shaw says the section of the Windsor Forest to Mahogany Vale roadway at Newcastle is only passable by large units.

Both the Mahogany Vale to Trinityville and Bathe to Barrett’s Gap roadways have been reduced to single lane traffic.

The NWA is advising motorists to proceed with caution along the affected corridors and obey the posted warning signs.
