Cardon Travel is changing the business landscape of the rural township of Old Harbour in St Catherine.

The business, having opened its door at Shop 7 Cottage Plaza, West Street, is a one-stop shop for many persons.

The husband-and-wife team of Andwele and Shauna-Kay Donaldson said it was a need to please their patrons that cemented the decision to provide a variety of services.

DAILY OPERATIONS

Shauna-Kay told Rural Xpress that she attends to the daily operations of the business while her husband gives the necessary energy for the business to gain traction.

"I tell you, it can be labour intensive and it is my husband's dedication that helps in times of need. I could not do it without his undying support," Shauna-Kay said.

Meanwhile, Andwele said the business is a holistic approach to persons who want to travel with a professional touch.

"Cardon's does vacation planning, hotel bookings, cruise, visa application and renewal. We are aware that there is a need for this service in this fast-growing community. We need to be diverse in our business approach, therefore, it is important that we do all in our powers to make it work," Donaldson said.

He told Rural Xpress that the growth of the business is very encouraging, though there are everyday challenges.
