Chuck defends spending ahead of elections

Last night senior JLP member and Justice Minister, Delroy Chuck, told Television Jamaica nothing is unusual about a Government spending on infrastructure projects ahead of an election.

​Yesterday's by-election brings to an end weeks of intense campaigning with stalwarts from parties embedded in the South East St Mary constituency.

The intensity of the electioneering triggered charges and counter charges of unprecedented 'outside' interference.

In fact, the start of at least three major road rehabilitation projects by the National Woks Agency just days before the election prompted charges of vote buying from the PNP.

However, last night senior JLP member and Justice Minister, Delroy Chuck, told Television Jamaica nothing is unusual about a Government spending on infrastructure projects ahead of an election.
