Sentence reduction: Man who killed woman and hid body under his bed gets seven years

Kino Gilzene, the man who stabbed a woman to death and hid her body under his bed, has been sentenced to seven years imprisonment.

Gilzene was also ordered to undergo psychological treatment.

Sentencing was handed down this afternoon in the Home Circuit Court by Justice Martin Gayle.

Gilzene was charged with murder two days after killing the 24-year-old woman, but it was reduced to manslaughter after he was found to be mentally ill.

It was reported that he invited the woman, who was a prostitute, to his house to have sex.

While at the premises, Gilzene stabbed her five times after strangling and threatening her.

She subsequently died.
