Running for fun in Denham Town’s ZOSO

The police have announced that several roads will be closed in west Kingston today to facilitate the staging of the zone of special operations (ZOSO) Denham Town Fun Run.

The joint force operating in the ZOSO in Denham Town in collaboration with the Jamaica Social Investment Fund and other partnering entities will be hosting the fun run, which begins at 3 p.m.

The fun run is a 3K road race with the additional activities to include a kiddies' corner, vibes corners and a mini concert.

According to the police, the run is aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles, unity among residents, greater cooperation and better relationship between members of the security forces and residents.

Roads to be closed

The following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic at 2 p.m., starting at the community centre at Racecourse Lane.

- Racecourse Lane between Elgin and Hannah streets

- Hannah Street between Racecourse Lane and Rose Lane

- Rose Lane between Hannah and North streets

- North Street between Rose Lane and Wellington Street

- Oxford Street between North and Beeston streets

- Charles Street between Oxford and Regent streets

- Regent Street between North and Charles streets

- Wellington Street between North and Dumphries streets

- Nuthall Street between Dumphries and Little King streets

- Little King Street between Nuthall and Greenwich streets
