Detectives from the Narcotics Police Division have arrested and charged a St Catherine woman with breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act following the seizure of a quantity of ganja at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston.

She is 27-year-old Chelly-Ann Blair, an unemployed resident of Leiba Drive, Old Harbour.

Blair has been charged with possession of ganja, dealing in ganja and takings steps preparatory to export ganja.

The police say Blair arrived at the airport yesterday to board a flight that was destined for Barbados.

Her suitcase was searched and a false compartment containing approximately four pounds of compressed ganja found.

She is scheduled to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court next Wednesday.
