JCF to launch campaign urging citizens to give up criminals for Lenten season

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) will today launch a campaign that will target wanted criminals for the Lenten season.

Since the start of the year more than 200 people have been killed across the island.

The JCF says the campaign will be guided by the theme: “What Are You Giving Up for Lent” and will encourage citizens to be alert and report wanted persons whose pictures will be made public.

The police say the initiative is part of its drive to create safer communities across the island and urged law-abiding citizens to give their support.

The JCF says members of the public can share information anonymously by calling its tip line at 811, Crime Stop at 311, the nearest police station or through the Stay Alert app that’s available in the Google Play Store.

The campaign ends March 30.
