The Education Ministry says its Student Assessment Unit is conducting island-wide training of assessment coordinators as it ramps up preparation for the implementation of the new Primary Exit Profile (PEP).

PEP forms part of the new series of assessments under the National Standards Curriculum (NSC) and will replace the existing Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT).

PEP will provide a profile of where the student is academically, their strengths and weaknesses, and their readiness for grade 7.

Education Minister Senator Ruel Reid says based on the feedback, assessment coordinators are appreciative of the training workshops and have already started implementing some practices discussed in the workshop in their schools.
