First-place winners of the Development Bank of Jamaica National Business Model competition, Shani Bennett (centre), CEO of Queritel Limited, and Kevonne Martin (right), vice-president of marketing and operations of Queritel, celebrate their victory with Michael Willacy, vice-president, SME and retail banking at Sagicor Bank. The research company, which was started by a group of students at the University of the West Indies, Mona, was announced as the winner of the youth entrepreneurship-focused competition, which culminated on Friday, March 23, at the Knutsford Court Hotel. Sagicor Group Jamaica sponsored the competi-tion to the tune of $500,000. Willacy also gave sound advice to the participants in pursuit of their entrepreneurial dreams.
