Youth Day - a time to rejoice

The young people's department of the Greater Bethlehem Temple Apostolic Church in Yallahs, St Thomas, hosted their seventh annual Youth Day on Wednesday.
The day of worship and activities saw youth, who were richly clad in bright colours, in full action for Jesus Christ.
Celebrating under the theme 'How Can You Curse What God Has Already Blessed?', the saints gloried in what they say is the joy of the Lord, which is their strength.
At the start of the service, Youth President Volis Williams, declared victory over the service proclaiming what would be a day of pure undiluted rejoicing in the Lord.
The preacher for the day's service was youth minister, Brother Shevar Williams, who brought the word of the day, which was based on Numbers 23.
He took his time to tell the fascinating story of Balaam and Balak's failed attempt to curse the children of Israel, who were on their way to inheriting The Promised Land.
ALREADY BLESSED
Williams spoke of how the Lord appeared unto Balaam, giving him a message to take back to Balak - a message of how He, God, had already blessed His people and that it could not be reversed.
The young minister used the scripture to encourage and assure the receptive congregation of God's promises to them, calling them bonds of blessing.
"Whatever God does is well done, and man cannot reverse it. Your blessings have already been poured out, and God cannot lie! Whatever you need, He will supply. I will join with the songwriter and say that 'My Father is a millionaire I'm stepping on gold!' Today, I am giving thanks for my blessing," he exclaimed.
Declaring war on the Devil as he encouraged the people to defend their favour in God, Williams said, "As warriors, we need to stand up on the word of our Almighty God. We should praise Him with surety, knowing that great is our reward in Heaven. If God be for us, who can be against us?
"Tell the Devil that he can't curse yu! And even in death, we are blessed as the Bible says 'Blessed are the dead in Christ'!
"Just believe that none who put their trust in Him shall be confounded or put to shame!"
The day's events continued with various workshops encouraging youths to stand steadfast and a special praise-and-worship evening session.
