The police are reporting that charges are pending against a former general manager of an all-inclusive hotel in Trelawny who was nabbed at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston yesterday on allegations of financial crimes.

They say he will be interviewed in the presence of his attorney following which the charges of obtaining credit by false pretense, obtaining money by false pretense, and breaches of the Revenue Administration Act will be laid.

He was arrested by investigators from the Constabulary Financial Unit of the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation and the Financial Investigations Division when he arrived at the airport about 7:40 p.m. last night.

The police say his arrest emanated from an intense investigation into several fraudulent activities involving two major banking institutions.

He reportedly acquired several credit facilities from these institutions using different Taxpayer Registration Numbers and names.

The police say these activities go as far back as 2010.
