Accused killers of pensioner and schoolboy remanded

The three men and teenager who were recently arrested and charged for the murder of an elderly woman and a schoolboy in Malcolm Heights, Lucea, Hanover, remain in custody after they were remanded in the Hanover Parish Court on Friday.

They have been charged for the deaths of 91-year-old Laurel Frame and 15-year-old Jesse Spence, a student at the Hopewell High School in Hanover. They were shot in Frame's yard on the night of Wednesday, July 25.

The three men, 23-year-old Gavin 'Satan' Cosley; 25-year-old Howard 'Zill' McIntosh, and 24-year-old Nicoy 'Nick' McKenzie, as well as a 15-year-old boy, are booked to reappear in court on Tuesday, September 11.

First-hand Look

On Friday, a large crowd showed up at the Hanover Parish Court to get a first-hand look at the accused killers, who were appearing in public for the first time since they were arrested.

"All now mi can't believe a man could turn a gun on a 91-year-old woman and fire it ... . That is not ordinary wickedness," remarked a bystander. "If they are guilty, I hope they lock them away and throw away the key."

According to reports, on the night of the murder, Spence went to visit Frame, who was his neighbour . As he stood in her yard, he was reportedly pounced upon by two gunmen, who shot him. The men then shot Frame.

Following the incident, the police arrested the juvenile and one of the other men. The others subsequently turned themselves in after being asked to report to police station.

The police believe that the killings of Frame and Spence were a reprisal for the murder of a notorious gangster Nico 'Fat Man' Campbell, who was killed by unknown assailants three weeks ago as he rode his motorcycle along the Sandy Bay main road in Hanover.
