People's National Party (PNP) vice presidential contender Dr Angela Brown Burke is pleading with Region 3 Chairman Phillip Paulwell to support her motion for the establishment of a mediation unit in the party to settle the many disputes among Comrades.

As her candidacy picks up steam, Brown Burke said the many rancour and unresolved issues in the party were spilling over in the public and the media. "Be it resolved that the PNP as its 80th conference considers and approves the establishment of a mediation unit," Brown Burke said at her constituency conference at the Caribbean Palm Community Centre in South West St Andrew this evening.

She told Comrades that the unit should be tasked with developing and executing activities geared at enhancing healthy dialogue and mediation among Comrades, including those in the leadership ranks.

She said all members of the party must be able to bring issues to the unit for mediation.

"Comrades, I am asking for a mediation unit because I am clear in my mind that some of us have forgotten that as members of the party it is always party above self," the South West St Andrew chairman, who herself has been embroiled in disputes with fellow Comrades in recent times, said.
