Heavy-duty equipment are now working to clear a massive landslide along the Junction Main Road in St Mary.

The landslide, which occurred shortly after 4:30 this morning, dumped huge boulders, tree trunks, and other debris unto the road.

Traffic is being diverted via the Westmoreland Bridge through to Richmond exiting at Grande Bridge for motorists travelling from Port Antonio, Annotto Bay, or Port Maria into Kingston. 

Motorists travelling from Kingston to Annotto Bay or to Port Maria are being advised to use the Grande Bridge through Richmond unto the Westmoreland Bridge.

Intermittent showers caused by the remnants of Tropical Storm Issac has been affecting sections of the island since Sunday. 

The Junction main road is currently undergoing major reconstruction, which has resulted in traffic restrictions between 9 a.m and 3 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.
