Foundation to assist persons with medical care launched

The Fresh Bread Ministries International worship centre in Montego Bay, St James, was the venue for musical praise and thanksgiving as church members came together for the official launch and dedication of the Regeve Cares Foundation on Sunday.

The members of the non-profit foundation, which started at Fresh Bread Ministries on June 2 this year, took active part in the morning service and demonstrated their philanthropic mission by contributing a wheelchair to elderly congregant Agatha Thompson.

During a brief address to the congregation, foundation chairman Ingrid Spence explained that Regeve Cares, which is named for Reginald and Evelyn Spence, was formed out of a need to assist persons to access affordable medical care while spreading the gospel.

"The Regeve Cares Foundation was laid on my heart by the Lord, and it is to assist persons who are unable to afford medical or surgical services, because they require these services to improve their health and standard of living. Money should never be the reason why a person cannot access any medical service in a timely manner," said Spence.

Sharing God's love

"As we help persons to pay for medical services in order to be at their optimal health, it's important that we share the love of the Lord. The foundation's role is to share the gospel of Christ with all who we meet," Spence continued.

In his endorsement of Regeve Cares, Pastor Philemon Samuels of Fresh Bread Ministries expressed hope that the foundation would prosper on its mission.
