Daniel Pryce appointed Integrity Commission interim executive director

Colonel Daniel Pryce has been appointed interim executive director of the Integrity Commission.

The appointment will last for a period of 12 months with effect from November 5.

In a statement this morning, a commission spokesperson said Pryce will help in the commission’s efforts toward the operational and administrative integration of the three agencies which have been merged to form the entity.

The agencies are the Integrity Commission, the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption and the Office of the Contractor General.

"The desired strategic outcome is a fit-for-purpose, sustainable organisation to support and reinforce the commission’s role in reducing corruption and improving Jamaica’s standing and alignment with global integrity and anti-corruption standards," said the spokesperson.

Colonel Pryce will be supported by the interim divisional heads: Joy Powell, acting director of information and complaints; David Grey, acting director of investigation and Dirk Harrison acting director of corruption prosecution.

The assignments have been made pending the identification and appointment of permanent directors by the Governor General as mandated by the Act.

About Colonel Pryce:
*Was appointed commander of all land forces of the Jamaica Defence Force, with principal responsibilities for all the Infantry operations 
*Served as interim Executive Director for the National Solid Waste Management Authority
*Was conferred with the Order of Distinction (Officer Class) for outstanding military service
*Is the recipient of the Queen's Diamond Medal
