Man arrested in relation to death of British woman
The St Mary Police today arrested a man in relation to the stabbing death of a woman in Boscobel in the parish.
The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old Karen Cleary-Brown, a beautician of Paradise Edge in Boscobel and a Pentonville Road address in London, England.
Cleary-Brown was reported missing on November 27, 2018, by the suspect, who is said to be a caretaker at her premises.
The police say on December 2 inconsistencies were detected in the missing person report, causing detectives to widen and intensify their probe.
This led investigators to carry out investigations at the woman's house where her decomposing body was found in a shallow grave about 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue.
The suspect was later taken into custody, however, his identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
The police's Chaplaincy Unit and the Community Safety and Security Branch in Area 2 have been tasked to offer grief counselling to family members and friends of the deceased.
