The National Water Commission (NWC) says normality has been restored to the water supply in Stony Hill and Jacks Hill in St Andrew.

In a release today, the NWC said it has installed two temporary pipelines to bypass the broken mains underneath the collapsed bridge on Airy Castle Road, Stony Hill.

"As at today, water has been distributed to all water supply zones. Two temporary pipelines have been connected to by-pass the broken mains underneath the bridge and are delivering nearly 2 million gallons of water to the Seaview Water Treatment Plant for treatment," the utility supplier release stated.

It said a permanent solution is being finalised.

Several communities around Stony Hill and Jacks Hill have been without their regular water supply after the water mains that supplies the Seaview treatment plant broke when the bridge in Airy Castle collapsed two Sunday ago.
