PORT ANTONIO, Portland:

A Portland woman was stabbed to death during a heated argument with a man in a bar in Port Antonio on Monday night.

She has been identified as Ebony Harris.

Police reports indicate that sometime on Monday afternoon, Harris and a male patron got into a heated exchange, and a knife was brought into play.

Several patrons reportedly fled the William Street bar in fear of being hurt, as the man, who was reportedly in a fit of rage, also uttered a barrage of swear words.

The woman was stabbed repeatedly by the man, who later fled the scene on a bicycle, but not before issuing threats to persons standing outside the bar.

The woman was rushed to the Port Antonio Hospital but succumbed to her injuries at about 9 p.m.

The police are now appealing to witnesses to come forward with information that could assist them with their investigation. The police are also appealing to the suspect to turn himself in.
