It was an uber chic affair when Sagicor’s premium clients were invited to an evening of drinks, laughter and celebration. Scores of socialites clad in well-tailored business attire waltzed into the beautifully decorated Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel for the grand occasion. The pool deck was nicely furnished with modern and snazzy moveables for mingling and cocktails.

These premium clients were ushered into a suite where a live band played sweet background music while hors d’oeuvres were served.

The Jamaica Public Service Company, with help from Sagicor Investments, raised $22 billion to cover half its debt. Various local banks, investors, and retail clients were sold bonds at 7.35 per cent and 8.4 per cent that will refinance part of the utility company’s existing debt, which it was servicing at 11 per cent.

Here are the highlights.
