Costa Ricans slapped with drug charges

Three Costa Ricans were arrested and charged during an operation at Ridge Pen district in Pedro Plain, St Elizabeth on Friday.

Charged are: 31-year-old Fernando Guido, fisherman of Queblo Nuevo; 31-year-old Emanuel  Fernandes, taxi driver of Limon Sieneguita; and 33-year-old Henry Baez, contractor of  Limon Valle, all in Costa Rica.

They have been charged with Possession of and Dealing in Ganja.

Reports are that about 2:00 a.m., lawmen conducted an operation in the area when a premises was searched.

Two parcels containing approximately six pounds of vegetable matter resembling ganja were seized.

The illicit drug has an estimated street value of $30,000.

A court date has not yet been ascertained.
