Family of missing woman pleads for her return

The family of 64-year-old Lorenda Williams-Parker is pleading for her safe return after she left home four weeks ago with the intention of helping a friend.
According to her sister, Marlene Henderson, Williams-Parker was last seen on July 18 after telling her nephew that she would help someone move although when asked who the person was, she declined to say.
“We just want to know where she is and what happened to her. Everybody in the family is just concerned because all of her stuff is still at home. Just like a week before she purchased a van, and I guess that is why whoever asked her to help them move. If her stuff was not still at the home, I would leave it alone, but everything is still there,” Henderson said.
She said further that although the Constant Spring police have done checks of the premises, the family has not received an update on their investigation.
When The Gleaner contacted Superintendent of St Andrew North Aaron Fletcher, he said that investigations were still under way and efforts were being made to locate Williams-Parker swiftly and safely.
Fletcher said that investigators have examined her diaries and are waiting on the family to assist in getting her bank statements.
“She has not been discovered at any place, so investigations are still being done to ascertain her whereabouts. They are to seek from her financial institutions information as to whether any account held by her has been active. That will take some time and effort, but, of course, the financial institutions won’t readily release those [types of] information,” Fletcher said.
