Police seize illegal gun following shootout in St Andrew

No one was arrested in relation to the seizure.

The police are reporting that cops recovered an illegal gun and ammunition following a shootout with men in Bull Bay, St Andrew.

No one was arrested in relation to the seizure.

The police report that cops were in the area on Monday afternoon when they saw two men along the roadway whose actions aroused their suspicions.

On seeing the team, the men fired shots at the cops, according to the police.

The police team returned the fire and the men ran, leaving the weapon behind.

The weapon was identified as a .45 semi-automatic pistol with a magazine containing five 9mm rounds of ammunition.

No member of the police team was injured.
