Trelawny farmer charged with murder of cousin

Detectives from the Clarks Town police in Trelawny have charged a man for the chopping death of his cousin.

Charged with murder is 60-year-old Roy Rose, otherwise called 'Mafia', a farmer of Sherwood district in Clarks Town.

Killed is 59-year-old William Jenkins, also a farmer of Sherwood district.

The police report that about 2 a.m. on Sunday, February 18, Rose went to Jenkins' home and entered his room and he used a machete to inflict wounds to his head.

The police were alerted, and upon their arrival, Jenkins was seen in blood on a bed.

He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Rose later turned himself in to the police.

He was subsequently charged with murder.

His court date is being finalised.
