Teenage girl, man arrested following gun and ammunition seizure in St Elizabeth
The police have arrested a man and a teenage girl following the seizure of a firearm and ammunition in St Elizabeth.
The police say, acting on intelligence, they carried out an operation in Brinkley district, where a premises was searched.
During the search, a revolver with one live round was reportedly found hidden inside a toilet tank.
They say the man and high school girl were taken into custody pending further investigations.
Head of the St Elizabeth Police Division, Acting Superintendent Coleridge Minto, is commending the search team for their diligence and detail during the operation.
He says the police will continue operations and he is encouraging residents to share any information they have on illegal guns or wanted persons to 119, 311 or the nearest police station.
