Former Boys' Town FC player Rafiek Thomas shot dead

Former Boys' Town Football Club player Rafiek Thomas, 39, was shot dead as he slept at his home in Denham Town in western Kingston early this morning, the police have confirmed. 

The incident happened about 4:40 a.m. on Water Street. 

Another male who was sleeping in a different section of the house was shot and injured. 

He has been admitted at the Kingston Public Hospital, in stable condition. 

The police say they picked up multiple spent casings inside the premises and along the Water Street roadway. 

The Kingston Western police are investigating. 

Thomas was a prolific goalscorer for the Red Brigades. 

He also had stints at the Tivoli Gardens and Harbour View football clubs.
