Discovery Bauxite joined with the St Ann Heritage & Homecoming Foundation and the St Ann Parish Library to stage the 13th Marcus Garvey Lecture on June 7 at the St Ann’s Bay Parish Library. The lecture, presented by Professor Densil Williams, pro-vice-chancellor and president of The University of the West Indies, drew a large audience of St Ann residents paying honour to the memory of Garvey, who was born in St Ann’s Bay on August 17, 1888.
