Man killed in police shoot-out in May Pen

A man was shot dead during a reported shoot-out with the police in May Pen, Clarendon today.

His identity has not yet been ascertained.

According to the police, a team was patrolling along Nelson Street in May Pen when they came under attack.

The cops returned fire, engaging in an intense gun battle that lasted for more than 20 minutes.

When the shooting subsided, a man was found suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The shooting sent nearby schools into chaos and panic.

Parents reportedly rushed to pick up their children.
