The National Works Agency (NW) is advising that a section of Washington Boulevard in St Andrew, in the vicinity of Dairy Industries, will be temporarily closed today to facilitate remedial pavement works.

The closure, which will run from 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 25 to 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, will affect westbound lanes (heading to Six Miles).

Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, says that the targeted sections of the roadway had fallen into disrepair in recent months.

He said the work is meant to restore the driving surface of the roadway.

Shaw further stated that single lane traffic usage will be in effect during the period of works.

Motorists should exercise caution in the vicinity of the repairs and obey the instruction of work personnel or warning signs.
