With approximately 50 persons already at the emergency shelter at Old Harbour High School, Chairman of the St Catherine Parish Disaster Committee, Dr Kurt Waul, is urging other persons in flood-prone areas to seek shelter before it is too late.

The Old Harbour High School shelter is able to accommodate 100 people.

"I hope that all the people from the low-lying area of Old Harbour Bay will come from Dagga Bay, Terminal Road and the general area to be here before it's too late," Dr Waul said.

One person said she decided to seek shelter based on experience.

"I have travelled from Buddo to be here, as I have suffered by Emily and others," Latoya Barrett said.
