A case involving three policemen charged for assaulting a colleague has been referred to restorative justice.

Sergeant Steve Forrest, Constable Brian Grant and Detective Corporal Roger Spence appeared before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday, by summons, to answer to the charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in relation to another serving member of the constabulary force.

The charge stemmed from a December 4, 2021 incident where the officer sustained injuries to his face and body.

The cops were charged following an investigation by the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) and a ruling by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

INDECOM says parish court judge Sanchia Burrell recommended that the matter be ventilated through restorative justice.

The case is set for mention on November 21, at which time the court is to hear the outcome of the restorative justice process.

The three cops were bound over.
