A sound system selector was gunned down this morning after leaving a nightclub in St Andrew.

He has been identified as 33-year-old Gavin Woolcock, otherwise called 'Mafia', of a St Andrew address.

He is reportedly linked to popular sound system Xfactor Sound.

The police report that Woolcock had concluded selecting duties at the 4/20 nightclub and left the venue with his girlfriend in his car.

It is reported that while at a stoplight on Constant Spring Road, in the vicinity of the entrance to the Manor Centre plaza, he was pounced upon by unknown assailant[s] who opened gunfire hitting him in the neck and upper body.

He was assisted to hospital by the police where he was pronounced dead.

The police say three spent shell casings were removed at the scene.
