Update | Normal operations resume at Sangster airport following emergency

Normal operations have resumed at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James after an emergency situation impacted some flights.

Sharon Hislop, Manager, Commercial Development & Marketing at MBJ Airports Limited, says the situation has been resolved.

She again declined to disclose the cause of the emergency.

The issue impacted some flight operations.

The Gleaner was informed that the airport reportedly had a security breach and that the necessary protocols were activated.

It is understood that the breach was linked to a firearm.
