St Mary farmer murdered

A 28-year-old farmer of Enfield in St Mary was shot and killed while playing dominoes with friends on Saturday night.

He has been identified as Akeem Rowe of Fort Stewart in the community.

Police sources said that Rowe was playing dominoes at a bar in the community about 9:30 .p.m when a man, armed with a handgun, reportedly walked up to him and opened gunfire, hitting him multiple times before escaping on foot.

No one else was injured during the shooting. Rowe was rushed to the Annotto Bay hospital, but was pronounced dead. 

The police recovered eight nine-millimetre spent casings from the scene.

No motive has been established for the killing. 

The Annotto Bay police are investigating.
