Two alleged robbers who were captured by the police on Old Hope Road in St Andrew on August 9 have been charged.

They are 22-year-old Alex Bailey, a mechanic of Glasspole Avenue, Kingston 2, and 19-year-old Oshane Wood, a mechanic of Lacoose Road, Kingston 2.

Both men have been charged with robbery with aggravation.

The police say about 2:30 a.m., a man was riding his bicycle along Old Hope Road when Bailey and Wood, who were travelling on a motorcycle, allegedly pounced upon him.

Wood, who was the pillion passenger, reportedly used a knife to rob the man of his belongings.

An alarm was raised and Bailey and Wood were intercepted by the police as they attempted to escape.

They were subsequently charged on Monday.
